Republican Bob Turner has pulled off a special election upset in New
York's 9th Congressional District, the Associated Press declared.

Turner beat Democrat David Weprin, a state assemblyman, to capture
former Rep. Anthony Weiner's seat representing parts of Brooklyn and
Queens.

Republican Mark Amodei has won a special election race in Nevada's 2nd
District, the Associated Press declared.

Once thought to be a tight race to replace now-Sen. Dean Heller, Amodei
beat Democrat Kate Marshall by more than 20 points.
