1.6 million adults 18-49 demo rating.
The premiere of TLC’s Sarah Palin’s Alaska (Sun, Nov 14, 9-10 p.m.
ET/PT) garnered a 3.5 HH rating and delivered 4.96M P2+, 1.8M P25-54,
1.1M W25-54, 1.6M P18-49, 4.7M P18+ and 3.9M P35+, according to Nielsen
fast nationals.
Sarah Palin’s Alaska is the #1 program launch in TLC history among HH
and P2+ delivery, besting the What Not to Wear series launch in 2003,
and posting triple digit rating and delivery gains vs. the prior six
week prime average, and the 4Q10 to-date prime average.
Very impressive--I'm waiting for any of the r.a.t. people to chime in
and tell us it wasn't a piece of shit.
Sarah Palin bested "What Not to Wear"?
Wow. That should give her lots of gravitas...
As well as "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant."

Notwithstanding her ill-advised, reckless photo op, fishing within feet
of Brown bears...a practice not recommended for obvious reasons...and
acting as though her and her children's lives were in danger...(leaving
her "cubs" unprotected?)....
Aerial wolf killings no doubt won't be included as part of "Sarah's
Alaska".
They are, afterall, a part of it...and something she supports, to the
extent that she tried to legislate a $150 bounty, for every wolf foot
lobbed off. (The hunters don't get paid...why should they?... so every
little bit helps.)
And no, this has nothing to do with preserving "the balance of
nature"...or protecting other animals.

It's overkill, pure and simple...and simply for pleasure. Who's
pleasure, one has to ask?
(That's not to say that conservation measures aren't necessary in
preserving a balance. It is to say, however, that shooting wolves from
helicopters...wounding them in the back, left to die a painful
death...is a cruel, barbaric, insidious way to fill ones wall with
trophies...or sell pelts.)
As for the Mama-Grizzly-in-Chief and her using the bears as a prop and
symbol, against which to prop herself up and compare herself...this one
won't be protecting her cubs, it would appear. And Palin seems quite
comfortable, using it as a prop in another way:

One person's opinion, but I'm not impressed with "Wilderness Woman",
showcasing her snowmobile and mountain-climbing prowess.
Touring Alaska is, without a doubt, an awe-inspiring experience. And
there are several stunning documentaries available. But viewing it as
it's been filmed...with endless, high pitched chatter and "flippin'"
flotsam in the background detracts from...and doesn't add to it's
intended purpose...whatever that may be.
